Go Irish!

Last weekend, we got to go to Notre Dame for the ND football game vs. Georgia.
We drove to Uncle Jim's lake home on Thursday, then enjoyed some down time and board games on Friday, before Steve and I went to the Round Barn Theater to see Kristin absolutely rock the stage as Sister Mary Robert in Sister Act!

On Saturday, we headed to campus for the game!

We had fun around campus.
The bagpipe band came by...
Cronks under the dome
Tailgating on the back of Tilly.  (Great)-Grandma is looking down from heaven smiling on her great-grandbabies.
Off to the concert on the steps.
After the concert, Trevor headed back to the house with Grandpa while the big kids stayed with Steve and I to go to the game.

We walked over to the march out after the concert.
We stopped by trombone circle, but didn't spy any alumni we know along the edges.
Austin just started playing saxophone this summer. We met some of the Notre Dame Saxophones and they invited Austin to direct their saxophone circle before step off to the stadium.  He didn't want to, but he did get to meet the Drum Major who is also a saxophone player.  Maybe in 8 years, Austin will be playing his saxophone in the Notre Dame Band!
We watched the band go by to the stadium, then headed in to our seats.
Steve, Nanny, Austin, and Sarah sat in our season tickets and I got to sit with Uncle Jim, Aunt Kathy, and Matthew!
Check out the huge new screen.  I'm not really a fan of it, but it did come in handy in the 4th quarter. More on that to come...
There was a flyover before the game.
And the band made the leprechaun!
(better view from the big screen than the angle I was at)
Here come the Irish!
Austin and Sarah were very excited!
At half time, I popped over to the section the kids were in.
We had fun cheering together, but then Sarah got sick in the 3rd quarter and ended up throwing up in a garbage bin in the concourse.  She fell asleep on my lap for the rest of the game, which is why I begrudgingly appreciated the big screen - I could sit on the seat with her on my lap and still see what was going on in the game by watching the screen. It was a late night and I think Sarah just had too much junk food. I gave her some Dramamine for the drive home and a few minutes after getting in the car, this is what the kids looked like...
My tired babies!  We got them to bed, then headed home the next day.
