We had fun preparing for Halloween!
We got pumpkins at "Minnesota's Largest Candy Store" (and a little candy too).
We enjoyed a visit from Elizabeth, Mickey, and Finlay with a family dinner at Aunt Jeannie and Uncle Tim's with s'mores around the fire pit.
Tickles from Finlay.
Trevor's preschool class had their "Fall Festival" and I got to stay and help out for the day.
The Cat in the Hat came too!
All lined up on the alphabet carpet to start the day.
High fives for the Cat in the Hat.
Working on rhyming words.
And making "Boo Brew" that has all sorts of Halloween fun in it (ex. Chex cereal = spider webs; chocolate chips = witch's warts; marshmallows = ghost noses; Bugles chips = cat claws, etc).Over the weekend, Austin was away at Notre Dame with Nanny and Grandpa for the Notre Dame vs. Miami game. (We actually won this one!!)
While Austin was away, Sarah got her ears pierced! She has to either wear earrings or clip on earrings (that are very tight) for her dance competitions this spring, so we offered her the choice and she was very excited to get her ears pierced. She did great!
Checking out her new pierced ears and earrings!
We also received a cookie boo-quet (see what I did there?) from Gramma and PopPop for Halloween and we took some photos of us enjoying the adorably decorated cookies.
Steve carved some great pumpkins again this year!
We didn't do matching costumes this year, but each kid picked out his or her own costume. Sarah was Dorothy from Wizard of Oz. Austin was a wizard from the Hufflepuff House at Hogwarts. Trevor was a pirate. Austin picked out a different wizard robe, but the one we ordered online didn't arrive in time (still hasn't arrived actually), so we had to run out the day of Halloween to grab a different wizard robe. Austin chose the Harry Potter themed robe since he is reading the Harry Potter books right now (currently on #6).
In this shot, Trevor gave us his pirate face...
Pirate Trevor with his pirate pumpkin.
Ready to go Trick or Treating with Nanny and Grandpa...
...and Mommy.
Trick or Treat!
Checking out their haul...look at all that candy!
Happy Halloween!
We've also had some really nice weather lately - temps in the low to mid-60s and sunny. Trevor and I spent some time playing at the park after preschool this week and we are treasuring the nice temps before the more typical November weather (snow!) sets in.
