This year, Austin and Sarah both played fall soccer. Spring is the main season for soccer, but they have a short fall season to play in. Sarah won't be able to do spring soccer most likely because of the commitment she has made to her competition dance team, which is very busy in the spring. This fall, Sarah was in the recreational league and had fun playing with her classmates and friends and making some new friends. Austin continued in the traveling league, but because of recent nation-wide soccer league changes forming teams by birth year cut offs, he went from being at the U9 level to being in the U11 level for this year. That means a much bigger field, bigger goals, and additional rules (like enforcing offsides). His team was a mishmash of different playing levels and it was fun to see them all working together and playing hard. Austin will have some winter training and futsal over the winter and then will be on the spring/summer traveling team again.
They both did a great job and had a lot of fun this season!
Here are some fun photos from the season...
Whenever I would take photos of the big kids playing soccer, Trevor would plant himself in front of the camera every now and then and give me a big cheesy smile!
Trevor also loves the high five line. After each game, the parents and spectators line up on the sideline and both teams run by and get fives from everybody. Trevor is always eagerly lined up ready to give some fives!
