Mother's Day and More

We were happy to enjoy Mother's Day with family.  After Mass, we met up with Nanny and Grandpa, Michelle, Brian and Theo, and Brian's parents who are visiting from New York.  We enjoyed a delicious brunch at Grandpa's golf club.
My big kids with Nanny, who is still #1 on their list of favorite people on the planet.
Trevor happily enjoying his brunch.
Brian's Mom and Dad were in town to visit and got to meet their new grandson and join us for Mother's Day brunch.

Nanny with her newest grandbaby Theo.
And then with her oldest AND youngest grandbaby.
Austin loves to hold Theo and is so proud that he is big enough to hold him on his own.

And with my big baby Trevor...it wasn't so long ago he was a wee one like Theo.
After brunch, we took the kiddos home for naps, then had Nanny and Grandpa over for play time and an easy dinner.  During dinner cleanup, Sarah and Trevor discovered the fun of a whole bunch of dishwashing bubbles in mixing bowls.
Similarly, Trevor had been enjoying stirring the Easter grass from his Easter basket in various mixing bowls and spreading it all over the house.   A whole playroom full of toys, and all he wants are kitchen utensils.

We've been enjoying the peeks of spring...
The kids are happy to get outside and play or takes walks to the park.  Austin has been really into basketball during the winter, playing almost every spare moment on his little over the door basketball backboard and hoop in the playroom, so this spring, we got a really nice portable basketball system for the driveway.  It was quite the laborious assembly, but now that it is up, we've been really enjoying it.  I realized I haven't actually taken any photos of Austin using the basketball hoop, because I've been busy playing with him or keeping Trevor from running into the street (he is determined to do so!).  I did get a shot of just how BIG the hoop is when we were putting it together.  I could fit Austin and Sarah inside the hoop!
Steve and I also got to attend the benefit gala for Austin and Sarah's school a few weeks ago with our neighbors.  It was a fun evening and Steve won fancy tickets to a Twin's game for he and Austin and we got a basket of school gear, restaurant gift cards, etc. too.

Some random pics...
More pics of the big kids holding Theo...they love to snuggle him and he is quite obliging so far.

Trevor enjoying a cupcake from Grandpa!
Thumbs up!
Trevor has also been expressing some interest in the potty lately.  He will request "potty" and want to sit on it.  We are not expecting him to potty train yet, but if he wants to sit on it and read Elmo potty books, we're all for it!
A few couple random vidoes...
Trevor will giggle like crazy when we tickle him, then, when we stop, will pause and then say "GO!" (which is him requesting us to keep tickling him).  My little cutie!

Trevor is also imitating a whole lot more and learning animals and their sounds and actions.  He calls cows "moo" and gets very excited about horses, elephants, puppies, and monkeys.  He discovered that a gorilla will holler and pound his chest and now does it whenever he sees a picture of a gorilla or if we ask him what a gorilla says.

Austin had his first grade program, "Commotion in the Ocean" on Friday and did a great job!  He had a small solo part in one of the song and sang and danced all the other songs with the whole group.  It was really cute!
Austin singing his solo line.
Here is the full program...

Austin made me a construction paper lei and brought it to me before the show began and said "thank you for coming."  What a little gentleman!
Our attempt at a family photo afterward...
Trevor tried out the maracas after the show.
And Sarah got to try the drums.
Auntie Michelle and Theo came too.  Theo slept like this the whole time.
What a cutie!

That's it for our eclectic last few weeks.  Coming up...soccer has begun and is getting into full swing, Sarah's dance recital is in a couple weeks, school is almost over (less than a month left), and we're making plans for summer!  Warmer weather is coming (or so the weather man says).
