At 15 months, Trevor...
- is starting to get more lean! He is the first of my kids to NOT be around 90th-95th percentile for weight and head circumference at this age. At his 15 month checkup on 11/26, Trevor weighed 24 lbs 13 oz (54th percentile), was 33 inches long (93rd percentile - still tall!) and head a head circumference of 18.5 inches (44th percentile). So now he's tall and lean already! In comparison, Austin was the same height at 15 months, but weighed 27.5 pounds and Sarah at 15 months weighed 26 lbs 10 oz.
- is talking more. He says "Mom" or "mama" most frequently, but also says "dada", "ball", "uh-oh", "hi", and plenty of "uh-uh" (though most of the time when he says "uh-uh" he actually means yes! He hasn't figured out how to say "uh-huh". He is starting to shake his head no when "uh-uh" actually means no but otherwise, he usually means yes).
- will point to his nose, mouth, hair, and pictures of a duck, a ball, a sippy cup, a dog, and a cat when asked (usually).
- is a good sleeper at night, though he wakes up around the same time in the AM regardless of whether or not he went to bed late. He is starting to lose his morning nap, though it seems like he still needs it. We rarely get a good morning and a good afternoon nap anymore.
- LOVES to play in the kitchen and in the pantry. He will go in the pantry and pull out soup cans and stack them in the middle of the kitchen. He will take unopened cereal boxes and work on them for about 20 minutes trying to get them open. He now can reach high enough to get to the cereal boxes on the 3rd shelf that are open already. Now he will pull those down and either hunker down on the floor in the pantry to snack, or will run off to spill the cereal all over the house. He has taken to carrying around half full peanut butter jars too. He also loves to play with our old set of pans. He carries around these pretty heavy pans and gets mad if anybody tries to take them from him. He also uses the lids as cymbals.
- is really into reading books right now. He will choose a book from his bookcase and bring it to me to read him, then wiggle down off my lap to choose a new one as soon as we are done with the one he chose. His favorites right now are singing books like "Baby Beluga" and "Jesus Loves Me", along with "Bubbles Bubbles", "Playful Puppy Peek a Boo", "Five Little Monkeys Sitting in a Tree", "What Makes You Giggle", and "B is for Bear." It is really cute to see him interact with the books. For example, when we read "B is for Bear", the first page is "A is for apple that I like to bite." and he will lead forward and pretend to bite the apple, making a chomping noise.
- enjoys playing in the playroom with his big brother and big sister, but is always getting into stuff he shouldn't (like markers the big kids left out). Likes to tackle Daddy and giggles when we chase him around the house.
After his 15 month checkup...
At dinner, he got really messy, so we stripped his clothes off as we got him out of his high chair. He then proceeded to run around naked and be goofy!
Showing off his bandaids from his shots.
The spiky hair is from all the food he put in his hair at dinner time!
Bath time? You'll have to catch me first!
Peek-a-boo!
With how tall he is, Trevor no longer fits backward-facing in his carseat. We had to turn it around, and he is quite pleased with facing forward!
Trevor hates when I brush his teeth, but when Sarah brought home her new toothbrush from her dentist appointment, he decided he would get it out of the package, run around brushing his teeth, and attempt to put toothpaste on the brush.
His dino riding toy has been a hit...especially when Grandpa is over for "donut Saturday" and pushes him around the kitchen on it!
He got this toy stethoscope out of one of the bins in the playroom and just put it around his neck and walked around with it for a while. Somebody's been watching Mommy head off to work?
Trevor has been a little confused about what holiday we're on. The day after Thanksgiving, we got him undressed to get in the bath, and he ran off down the hall and came back with a Christmas elf hat on and carrying Sarah's Halloween pumpkin!
Eeyore is one of his favorite stuffed animal friends. He also really likes to snuggle Sarah's Grumpy Bear, which could be a point of contention if he becomes too attached to it! (Why do my kids like the grumpy/gloomy characters??)
Given the photos in this post, one would assume that Trevor spends a large amount of time naked. In fact, he does not...he has just been particularly cute right before bath time lately. :)
