Boating Fun!

Last weekend, despite starting off my hospital rounding week with a long Saturday rounding on babies at 3 hospitals, I was able to get home in time to take the kids out on the boat with Nanny and Grandpa, Michelle and Brian for a fun afternoon and evening.

Sarah started off with "Mommy, hold me!  Mommy, hold me!" for a few minutes, but warmed up to boating much faster this time.  She at least let Nanny hold her for a bit and then started to get more interested in boating when I pointed out the buoys she enjoyed so much last time.

She started off holding on desperately to her hat so it wouldn't blow away.
Austin had a blast from the start and was excited to have Auntie Michelle and Uncle Brian along this time too!
 Tubing time!  So excited!
Brave woman - Nanny went tubing with Austin first!
 They had a blast!
After - spiked up hair and all.
Next up - Auntie Michelle rode with Austin.
Mommy and Sarah watching the tubing together.
After initially being scared on the boat, Sarah ended up having a blast! She was sitting up front in the bow of the boat, dancing to music, cheering for water skiers and throwing snacks to the fishies.

Here are Austin and Sarah waving to their shadows.
 Dancing with Nanny.
Brian showing off his water skiing skills.
 Getting ready to swim!
Austin had fun jumping in and swimming around, using the tube as home base.
Sarah wanted to sit on the edge of the tube and kick her legs in the water.
Then she got fearless (surprisingly, considering how the day on the boat started with "Mommy, hold me!"), and wanted to jump off the back of the boat and swim with Uncle Brian and Auntie Michelle.
Michelle being brave and skiing with sunglasses on.  She didn't lose them in the lake either.
Then Austin helped Uncle Brian drive the boat back to the dock and we headed home for supper and a late bedtime for 2 very tired children.
The kids have been excitedly discussing the next time we'll go out on the boat.

Here is a video of clips from the day...everything from tubing to skiing, to Sarah dancing on the boat and jumping in the water.

Not too much else is new for us here. We're getting closer to baby boy's due date!  The countdown today is 39 days to go until due date.  I'm about 34 1/2 weeks and baby is growing by the day.  We finally are getting close to the end of the basement renovation (carpet arrived today and is being installed tomorrow along with the tile around the fireplace - then we're DONE!).   I'll have to finish decorating the baby's room once we get the basement project off the to do list.  We're still having trouble settling on a name for this little guy - nothing seems just right yet.  If you've got some great ideas, we're open to suggestions.  : )
