Fun at the Zoo

We've got a family pass to the Minnesota Zoo for the year from our realtor when we moved, so we decided to take advantage of the gorgeous weather on Saturday and take the kids to the Zoo.  I got my hospital rounds done in the morning, had lunch with the kiddos, then we headed out.   I've taken them to the Zoo a few times before, but Daddy has never been there, so we showed Daddy around.  Sarah is now old enough to really enjoy seeing the animals.  She also loves to go for walks, so a walk in the stroller at the zoo was pretty exciting for her.  Austin wanted to play on the playground and wanted to see the giant sandbox (which unfortunately was only there on the day they had a Tropical Beach Party in the Tropics Trail this past winter). The kids both enjoyed the day!
An attempt at a family picture.  I offered to take a photo for another family, so they took one for us.
The kids got to pet a lizard.
 Checking out the turtles.
The baby monkey was really cute!
Sarah was really excited about it.  She loves the five little monkey books and has a cute monkey on her jammies that she loves to point to and say "monkey." She LOVES babies, especially her baby doll.  So seeing a baby monkey was two of her favorite things together!
Sitting on the tiger statues.
Austin didn't want to smile for a picture, but was being cute as he jumped off.
We caught part of the bird show. It was actually a lot more interesting than I thought it would be.
Austin got to ride on Daddy's shoulders for a bit to see the camels swimming in the pond.
Then he thought it would be funny to snag Daddy's sunglasses right off his face.
The kids had fun playing on a little playground for a while.
My little turtles.
Checking out the penguins of the African coast.
The kids were thoroughly tired out and fell asleep in the car on the way home.
