I got to be a "parent helper" for the last day of school to help out with "field day" and the last day of school activities. It was really fun to see some of the routines the kids have at school.
Here is Austin doing show-and-tell. He is showing his Cars watch. He is pretty excited about telling time (on digital clocks at least) and enthusiastically declared the time while showing off his watch.
Here is his teacher leading the class in their "Hello Song". Very cute!
Out at the playground, the kids did a field day course. This part is Austin trying to do the hula hoops. He would spin himself more than the hoop.Back at home...lots of fun playtime and cute photos over the past week.
Austin and Sarah got pinwheels while in South Padre and Austin figured out that the best way to get it to spin around fast is to spin himself around and whip it around as he spins.
Sarah spun herself around too. She loves to imitate her big brother.
Too cute!
A video of them enjoying their pinwheels...Thanks Gramma and PopPop!
Other cute photos...
Playing in our jammies!
Peeking out of the play tent. There are lots of giggles involved in this...especially when Austin plays "Big Dad Wolf" with Daddy. It is quite funny to hear Austin say "not by the hair of my chinny chin chin" and to watch Sarah reach up, grab onto the playhouse frame and shake it while "blowing the house down".
Peek a boo!
We have discovered that Sarah is also a fan of "Baby Beluga." She will now "read" it and "sing" the words while patting the beat on her legs like Austin does in imitation of Mr. Peter. Here she is checking it out (and swaying to the song she is singing).
And singing...this is the "ooooooo" of Baby Beluuuuuga.
Sarah has recently been into climbing into small spaces (under the coffee table, behind the shelving in the playroom closet, between her changing table and crib, between her crib and the wall, etc.) The other morning, she decided to climb under my papasan chair in my office and lay there smiling. Goofy baby!
The baby doll has been popular lately. Austin has been very sweet and loving with the baby doll and enjoys feeding her and tucking her in for naps. She rides around in Sarah's doll stroller and gets alternately snuggled tenderly and yanked around by her head or her toes.
Sarah feeding the baby doll.
Austin's turn to feed the baby.
Silly giggles.
What a sweet face! My precious boy!
Ah, a moment when they're not antagonizing each other!
"Uh, Mom, I'm on the phone!"
Ugh...someday she will be a teenager...and I'm already afraid.
There's my sweet smiley baby girl!
That's all for now folks. We had a nice long weekend over Memorial Day weekend and have been keeping busy on the "to do" list. Summer has arrived, though sometimes the weather doesn't look at the calendar. We're looking ahead to a busy summer!
